- On Wednesday, the National Investigation Agency attached two properties in Baramulla, Kashmir, belonging to a key accused in a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case linked to militant groups.
- Officials executed the seizure under Section 33 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, pursuant to orders from the NIA Special Court, Jammu, to disrupt terror logistics.
- The properties belong to Shaheen Ahmad Lone, whom the NIA said was "actively involved in receiving and transferring funds to the terrorists" and smuggled arms through the Line of Control.
- Located in Kanispora village, the seized assets include a residential house built on 7.5 marlas of land and a separate plot measuring six marlas with a constructed shed.
- Lone, arrested in September 2020, faces trial under the UAPA in case RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU, as investigations continue into his alleged links with Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
