NHS worker suing Jeremy Clarkson after serious injury at pub car park
Elizabeth Palmby, 68, suffered a deep hand laceration and broken ribs after tripping on unsecured metal sheets in the pub's muddy overflow car park, now suing for damages.
- Elizabeth Palmby, 68, is suing Jeremy Clarkson after a fall at his Farmer's Dog pub car park last November, following a three-and-a-half-hour journey from Scunthorpe.
- After heavy rain, temporary metal sheets were placed across the muddy overflow field and were reported to have moved as they were not fixed down, while West Oxfordshire District Council approved a permanent surface but temporary covers remain due to drainage conditions.
- Surgeons removed metal fragments from Ms Palmby’s hand, reconstructed the wound with ten stitches, and revealed broken ribs after X-rays at Witney Hospital, she stated.
- Express Solicitors said they are pursuing a compensation claim and called the injury `horrific` after Ms Palmby wrote to Clarkson about the hazard but received no reply.
- With drainage approval pending, temporary metal covers will remain in use and continue to be monitored, as planning permission for a permanent surface exists but awaits a detailed surface-water drainage scheme.
