NFL power rankings: Chiefs, 49ers back to top; Bills, Broncos and Eagles drop for Week 5
San Francisco and Kansas City remain among the league’s three unbeaten teams as ESPN says injuries and offensive struggles are reshaping the top 32.
On Tuesday, ESPN released its Week 5 NFL Power Rankings based on 2026 Super Bowl odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, positioning the undefeated San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs near the top of the league.
Undefeated at 4-0 after beating the Denver Broncos, the 49ers rely on their strong offense, while the Chiefs lean on running back Kenneth Walker, who leads the NFL with 537 rushing yards.
Buffalo Bills dropped from the top spot after losing to the New England Patriots 29-26 in Week 4, while Cleveland Browns climbed into the top 20 following their 27-24 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Oddsmakers adjusted Super Bowl futures as Dallas Cowboys odds shifted to +2700 and the Browns fell to +250 to make the playoffs; the Philadelphia Eagles fell out of the top 10 after a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Week 5 features critical divisional matchups, including the 49ers playing the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, as analysts evaluate playoff contenders heading into the season's second quarter.
