Peaky Blinders Creator to Pen New James Bond Movie
AMAZON MGM STUDIOS, JUL 31 – Amazon MGM selected Steven Knight, known for Peaky Blinders, to write the next James Bond film as part of its full creative control of the franchise acquired this year.
- On June 25, 2025, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that Steven Knight will write the next James Bond film after Denis Villeneuve was announced as director.
- Since gaining full creative control this year, Amazon MGM Studios said it closed a joint venture with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson in March, securing franchise rights.
- As for Knight, he brings an impressive track record as creator and writer of BAFTA-winning Peaky Blinders, Taboo, and SAS Rogue Heroes, receiving a CBE in 2020 and a RTS Fellowship in 2023.
- Insiders say Villeneuve endorsed Knight last week, clearing the way for development, and the film is not expected until 2028.
