Waterspout seen off Murrells Inlet coast

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) -- News13 obtained a viewer-submitted video showing an apparent waterspout forming near the Hot Fish Club on Thursday afternoon. The video, taken by Jacob West and Jackson Todd, shows a waterspout forming as storms hit the South and Grand Strand in the afternoon. The video is available at the top of this story.

Waterspout sightings along the Grand Strand, South Carolina

Storms on Thursday across the Grand Strand brought heavy rain, frequent lightning, and rotation. Thankfully, none of these rotating storms produced a tornado over land in Horry County, but offshore, they did. There were multiple sightings along the Grand Strand of waterspouts. Sightings were from viewers in Murrells Inlet, Garden City, and Myrtle Beach. It is unclear if these sightings are of the same waterspout, or different ones.
