President Gabriel Boric announced on Monday the end of the Punta Peuco prison as it was known, following the decision of the Comptroller General of the Republic to transform it into a common prison. The decision, initially announced by the President in the Public Account of June 1, implies that the prison will cease to be an exclusive facility for those convicted of human rights violations of the civic-military dictatorship.
According to PNL candidate Johannes Kaiser, President Gabriel Boric is "committing a violation of human rights" by transforming Punta Peuco.
