Brad Mooar Is New Fijian Drua Head Coach
The former All Blacks and Scotland assistant won a two-year contract after an extensive global recruitment process, club officials said.
- On Monday, the Fijian Drua appointed New Zealander Brad Mooar as head coach on a two-year contract, replacing Glen Jackson who declined to extend his deal.
- Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller said the club conducted an exhaustive recruitment process, noting Mooar stood out for his technical knowledge and experience in championship-winning environments with the Crusaders.
- Mooar previously served as head coach of Welsh side Scarlets and worked as an assistant for the All Blacks and Scotland during the 2023 Rugby World Cup and Six Nations Championship.
- "I believe there are enormous opportunities for us to play a special brand of rugby," Mooar said, adding he aims to help the team win championships and inspire the nation.
- Starting in September, Mooar will officially begin his role to prepare the squad for the 2027 season, taking over a team that finished 10th in the 11-team Super Rugby table this year.
