New Zealand’s A2 Milk Posts 44% Fall in Full-Year Profit
A2 Milk said one-off acquisition costs and China-label supply disruption cut net profit 42.2% to $111 million even as revenue rose 12.4%.
A2 Milk reported a 5.8% decrease in underlying net profit to $207.4m for the 12 months ending June, while one-off costs and losses cut total net profit to $111m, down 42.2%.
Operating revenue rose 12.4% to $1.9b, though growth was partially offset by a reduction in China label sales driven by supply chain disruption in the fourth quarter.
Shares in the company fell 47c, or 5.71%, to $7.76 following the earnings report; the company declared a final dividend of 9.5c a share payable on October 2.
Management forecasts mid-single digit revenue growth and an EBITDA margin of about 15%, with revenue and EBITDA expected to be materially weighted to the second half of full-year 2027.
Infant milk formula growth reached 5% in a flat China market last year, with the company stating that contributing supply chain factors are now resolved and product availability significantly improved.
