New York back in NBA Finals for first time since 1999 after beating Cleveland 130-93 to finish sweep
On Monday night, the New York Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 in Game 4 to complete a four-game Eastern Conference Finals sweep and return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
Head Coach Mike Brown's first-year turnaround follows the Knicks' departure from Tom Thibodeau, who led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals last year before losing to Indiana in six games.
Karl Anthony-Towns led New York with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Knicks shot efficiently throughout, building a 68-49 halftime lead and extending it to 45 points in the fourth quarter.
The Knicks will face either the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs in the Finals, with the Western Conference Finals tied at two games and Game 5 set for Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
New York's Finals return ends a 27-year drought and marks the franchise's third championship appearance since winning their last title in 1973, with more than 5,000 fans celebrating at Radio City Music Hall.
