Upstate man breaks 12-year-old record with fish catch in Adirondacks
An upstate man has hauled in a record-setting brook trout, the state Department of Environmental Conservation reported, breaking a record that had stood for a dozen years. The DEC said that Benjamin Ferguson, a brook trout angler from Lowville, Lewis County, caught a 22-inch, six-pound three-ounce “brookie” from the St. Regis Canoe Area on July 5, 2025.
