The new wind farms that will appear off our west coast by 2030, near De Panne and Koksijde, will take wind from the existing wind farms off our east coast. They would produce 8.5 percent less power, on windy days even 15 percent. This is evident from new research by KU Leuven. But the new parks remain necessary, for a safe power supply and for our climate objectives.
