Chinese scientists have discovered a new virus transmitted by ticks. After examining 3,163 patients with fever, 329 were found to be infected. Meanwhile, the same type of tick-borne virus has already spread to 21 states in the United States.
Among those infected are residents of Hubei province, where the city of Wuhan is located, which has become the epicenter of the spread of the COVID-2019 outbreak.

Chinese scientists have identified a new virus that can be transmitted to humans through tick bites, and the pathogen is called ALTNV, an Asian long-tailed mite nyrovirus. The study is published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
