New Taipei, June 30 (CNA) The New Taipei MRT Sanying Line, which connects Tucheng, Sanxia, and Yingge districts in the city, officially opened at 2 p.m. Tuesday following a ceremony attended by central and local officials, cutting the commute from Yingge to Taipei by 20 minutes.
The Sanying MRT Line in New Taipei City, Taiwan, entered commercial service on June 30, 2026. The new line is 14.29 km long and has 12 stations, and passengers will be able to travel free of charge until August 31, during a trial period.
