New Residential Facility Opens in Clayton County, Bringing Much-Needed Addiction Treatment Access to South Atlanta
The facility will provide medically supervised detox and structured residential care as Clayton County faces one of Georgia’s highest opioid overdose burdens.
On Monday, May 18, 2026, Samba Recovery Atlanta will officially open its Jonesboro, Georgia, facility to patients, expanding access to medically supervised detox and structured residential addiction treatment.
Clayton County faces unique vulnerabilities, ranking 46th for mental distress and among Georgia's top 15 counties for opioid overdose deaths in 2022, creating urgent local treatment needs.
Samba Recovery transformed a formerly distressed, bankrupt property into a modern healing environment, an investment that created local jobs while providing families support close to home.
Clayton County Commissioner DeMont Davis welcomed the expansion, stating, "I am proud to welcome Samba Recovery to our community," as the facility addresses a critical care gap.
As part of the broader Samba Recovery network, the facility aims to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to residents in the South Atlanta area, fulfilling a critical recovery support need.
