According to researchers from the Hungarian Research Institute, the remains of Béla II have been identified in the ossuary in Székesfehérvár. During the tests, by analyzing more than 400 genomes, three new genetic lines from the male line of the Árpád dynasty were detected. Based on the results, not only the king's identity, but also the dynasty's family network may be significantly expanded. The research was published in the journal iScience.
