New remains bring California wildfire toll to 31
ALTADENA, CALIFORNIA, JUL 23 – The death toll from January's Eaton and Palisades fires reached 31 after human remains were found, with 19 deaths linked to Eaton Fire alone, officials confirmed.
- A 19th victim of the Eaton fire was found in Altadena, raising the total death toll to 31.
- The remains were identified as human and were located on the 10 block of La Venezia Court, according to the medical examiner's office.
- Only one other victim of the Eaton fire remains unidentified, discovered in mid-January in Pacific Palisades.
