New Orleans team breaks records rowing across the Arctic Ocean

- On July 6, a four-person team including Jimmy Graham rowed across the Arctic Ocean from Troms, Norway, to Longyearbyen, Svalbard.
- The challenge aimed to raise $1 million for New Orleans nonprofits supporting disadvantaged youth, driven by Graham's commitment to giving back.
- The group endured freezing temperatures, two weather-related anchorings, and non-stop rain for 24 hours while alternating two-hour shifts rowing 24 hours a day.
- They completed the 584-mile Arctic Challenge in just over 10 days, beating the previous four-person record of more than 15 days set by Ocean Revival in 2023.
- Their victory established multiple firsts: the first all-American and mixed-gender team to cross a polar ocean; Graham became the first Black person to row a polar ocean.
