- Allocating up to $1,700 in federal tax credits for donations, the law lets households earning up to 300% of area median gross income fund K-12 tuition, tutoring, technology and transportation.
- Following the signing, the administration drew heat for withholding $6.8 billion in K-12 funds while Republicans praised school choice.
- With the program taking effect in the 2027 tax year, states can opt in and have until 2026 to set up organizations for over 138 million potential beneficiaries.
