Apple Reportedly Set to Unveil New Mac Mini Soon
The update follows surging demand for local AI use and 4-10 week delivery estimates as Apple tests M5 and M6 chip versions.
Apple could release a new Mac mini as soon as the coming days, according to Bloomberg, marking the first update to the desktop computer in almost two years.
Surging demand from users running artificial intelligence models locally, combined with ongoing memory chip shortages, has strained the Mac mini supply chain in recent months.
CEO Tim Cook toured the Houston, Texas facility with Trump administration officials in August, where Foxconn will begin assembling Mac mini units later this year, emphasizing U.S. manufacturing.
The Mac mini refresh will likely be the final product launch under Tim Cook, who hands leadership to John Ternus on Sept 1, after which Ternus oversees major product roll-outs.
This launch is part of a broader wave of products in the second half of this year, including a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro and additional new Macs arriving later.
