- On Tuesday, U.S. prosecutors charged Blu Zeke Daly, 26, Manchester resident, with attempted murder and assault of a federal officer, announced by U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan.
- In Stewartstown, New Hampshire late Saturday, a Border Patrol agent encountered Daly driving alone near the Canadian border and followed him until Daly reached the closed Pittsburg Port of Entry shortly after midnight on Sunday.
- During the exchange, the Border Patrol agent activated his emergency lights and exited his vehicle, at which point Daly fired a handgun at the agent, who returned fire and shot Daly.
- Daly faces federal penalties including up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fines, prosecutors said the FBI is leading the investigation while Daly is under guard at a New Hampshire hospital and the unnamed Border Patrol agent was unharmed.
- About 150 miles north of Concord, Pittsburg, a rural town of about 800, hosts New Hampshire's only border crossing, the Pittsburg Port of Entry, which was closed during the incident.
