The German Ministry of Transport has launched a new funding program for electric vehicle charging stations in apartment buildings. €500 million is available to install wallboxes, grid connections, and other technical equipment. According to the ministry, there are 21 million apartments in multi-family buildings in Germany, with nearly 9 million parking spaces. The aim is to expand the private charging infrastructure in these buildings.

The federal government wants to specifically expand the charging infrastructure at multi-family houses and has set up a new funding programme for this purpose. WEGs are also entitled to apply.
