Online shops must now offer a clearly visible revocation button. The basic idea behind this is that buying online should be just as easy as revoking a contract. The trade association warns against "bureaucracy burdens".

Starting June 19, 2026, all online stores in the European Union must include a clear cancellation feature in their app or on their website. The goal is to make it just as easy for consumers to cancel online purchases as it is to make them—with no more than three clicks.
As of now, it will be easier for consumers to withdraw contracts concluded online. An expert at the consumer centre in North Rhine-Westphalia explains what is improving.
