Optimized Porsche 911 GT3 R to Launch in 2026 Season
WEISSACH, GERMANY, AUG 8 – The 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo features aerodynamic and suspension upgrades to enhance drivability for gentleman drivers, building on over 420 podiums worldwide since 2023.
- Porsche announced an updated 911 GT3 R and a new 911 Cup race car set to debut in the 2026 season worldwide.
- Development of the 911 GT3 R Evo began in August 2024 to optimize aerodynamics, suspension, and drivability based on competitive testing.
- Testing occurred at Weissach, Sebring, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps, and Nürburgring with Herberth Motorsport fielding the car in the 12H Spa-Francorchamps race in April, finishing second.
- The refreshed 911 GT3 R features a 4.2-liter flat-six producing 557 hp, a 4mm Gurney flap, revised suspension, improved cooling, new ceramic wheel bearings, and integrated sensors, with a price set at 573,000 euros excluding VAT.
- Porsche plans a full customer rollout ahead of 2026 with around 60 update kits starting at 41,500 euros, aiming to maintain competitive success in global GT racing.
