Following the investigation into the funds scandal, AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with the heads of the economic administration and regulatory and supervisory institutions in Ankara. The meeting was attended by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, as well as the heads of the Capital Markets Board (SPK), the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), and the Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST).
Of the eight suspects detained in the ongoing fund investigation in Istanbul, six have been arrested. The number of arrests in the fund investigation has risen to 56. While developments regarding the fund investigation continue, President Erdoğan is meeting with the heads of the economic administration and regulatory and supervisory institutions.
