Main opposition leader Özgür Özel on Wednesday denounced the last-minute relocation of #İstanbul mayor ’s trial to a high-security courthouse, calling the move an attempt to sideline public scrutiny and intimidate dissent.
Some artists were banned from performing on the grounds that they supported Ekrem İmamoğlu and the protests in Saraçhane. While the issue was brought to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu addressed the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
