There are hybrid attacks on Austria on a daily basis, says Harald Vodosek – on the army as well as on critical infrastructure.
Austria's new Chief of the General Staff, Harald Vodosek, said that the Austrian military and critical infrastructure face at least 100,000 cyberattacks every day. In an interview with Austria's Der Standard, Vodosek assessed the current threat level to Austria from Moscow's hybrid warfare as "medium to high," citing cyberattacks, disinformation, sabotage and drones as some of the key security challenges.
Drone attacks and cyberattacks are currently the biggest threat, says the new Chief of Staff of the Austrian Army, Harald Vodosek. Cyberattacks can also disrupt electricity, gas or water supplies. And if a city like Vienna is without electricity for a week or two, the consequences are multifaceted, he warns.
