Universal Orlando Closing Lost Continent, Mythos for New Themed Land
Universal said the phased overhaul will replace opening-day attractions with a new themed area and new dining, including a 2027 closure of Mythos.
- Universal Orlando confirmed Thursday the closure of two restaurants at Islands of Adventure: Mythos and Thunder Falls Terrace, both part of the park's original 1999 opening-day lineup.
- Mythos will permanently shutter in 2027 as part of the phased closing of Lost Continent to make way for a new themed land. The restaurant faced the park's central lagoon.
- Thunder Falls Terrace will close this summer to transform into a new signature full-service restaurant, located adjacent to Jurassic Park River Adventure, currently undergoing refurbishment.
- Hot Dog Hall of Fame, operating since 2014, will close in July to be replaced by Fat One's Hot Dogs & Italian Ice. Five Guys and Luke Combs' Category 10 will also open at Universal CityWalk.
- Universal Studios' Horror Make-Up Show will close next week on May 12 for revisions. Construction continues in Lost Continent without a publicly revealed theme or timeline for the new development.
