From 1 September 2026 onwards, the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel will put in place an exceptional arrangement allowing some undocumented persons to obtain a residence permit. As early as September, Neuchâtel will activate a temporary arrangement allowing persons in employment who have been living on the territory for ten years without a residence permit to obtain regularisation. The arrangements are close to the "Papyrus" operation conducted in Geneva.
