Potential Celtics center target signs new deal with Nets
One center upgrade is off the board for the Celtics on Monday after the Brooklyn Nets agreed to a deal to re-sign Day’Ron Sharpe, Michael Scotto of Hoopshype.com first reported. The Nets had a $6 million team option on the big man for the 2026-27 season but declined in order to lock in Sharpe for an additional season at $10 million annually.

Day'Ron Sharpe and the Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract. The Nets declined their $6.25 million team option on Sharpe to agree to terms on a new contract that runs through the 2027-28 season. Sharpe appeared in 62 games last season with the Nets, averaging 8.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.7 minutes. Sharpe was the 29th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft out of North Carolina.
