This addresses the reality of very low hearing aid usage rates despite the rapid increase in the hearing-impaired population, as well as the adverse effects of hearing loss on brain health and dementia. The Korean Society of Otolaryngology strongly urges the strengthening of the national health screening system for the early detection of hearing loss and the expansion of auditory rehabilitation policies, including support for hearing aids.
