CBI Files Charge Sheet Against 13 Accused in NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Case

- The CBI filed a charge sheet on Tuesday against 13 accused individuals in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, formally advancing prosecution of those charged with compromising the medical Entrance Test.
- Following a written complaint from the Department of Higher Education on May 12, the National Testing Agency cancelled the NEET-UG held on May 3, prompting The CBI to form multiple Investigation teams comprising 72 officers and cyber forensic experts.
- The agency cited 360 witnesses, 422 documents, and 43 material objects in the Charges, which include criminal conspiracy and cheating under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alongside provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Public Examinations Act.
- According to The CBI, all 13 accused persons are currently in judicial custody, and a special fast-track court is likely to take up the matter on Wednesday as legal proceedings advance.
- Investigation teams continue conducting Forensic imaging and analysis of seized materials to establish the accused's role in circulating leaked questions before the examination, while a re-examination was held on June 21 to address academic disruptions.
