- On Thursday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Eziama community, Enugu State, arresting suspects Chukwu Obumneme Christopher and Chukwu Georginus Monday.
- Surveillance conducted between December 1 and 4, 2025, tracked Christopher across Lagos, Enugu, and Anambra states, leading operatives to the compound where the agency alleges the syndicate partnered with Mexican drug cartel member Rodriguez Villanueva.
- Operatives recovered 1,000 litres of isopropyl alcohol, 690 litres of methylamine, and 414kg of lead acetate from the premises; a search of Monday's family residence also produced 11kg of ephedrine.
- Justice Mabel Taiye Segun-Bello arraigned the two suspects before the Federal High Court, Enugu Judicial Division, on five counts including conspiracy and financing, scheduling their trial for October 21, 2026.
- NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Marwa reaffirmed the agency's resolve to track all fleeing suspects, noting the facility resembled other laboratories recently dismantled in Ogun, Oyo, and Ebonyi states.
