LL Cool J, Scott Caan to Star in 'NCIS: New York' on CBS
The spinoff brings Sam Hanna back to his hometown and adds a new partner as CBS expands the franchise with a fall premiere.
On Wednesday, April 15, CBS executives announced the greenlighting of "NCIS: New York," a new series starring LL Cool J and Scott Caan scheduled to premiere in fall 2026.
Legendary NCIS Agent Sam Hanna returns to his New York City hometown to lead a new team, partnering with a roguish special agent played by Caan to defend the city.
The series joins the Tuesday night lineup at 9 p.m., positioned between the flagship "NCIS" at 8 p.m. and the prequel "NCIS: Origins" at 10 p.m.
CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said LL Cool J "has done pop-ins at NCIS the last two years, and it's been really successful," validating the franchise expansion.
Byron Balasco, creator of "Kingdom," will serve as showrunner, with Scott Gemmill writing the pilot and CBS Studios producing the new drama.
