Nigeria: FG Reduces Kwam 1's Flight Ban to One Month
The Inspector-General of Police has ordered a full probe following a petition by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority over KWAM 1's alleged obstruction of aircraft operations.
- Following the NCAA petition, the IGP ordered an investigation into last week’s incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, involving Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
- On August 5, 2025, the NCAA alleged KWAM 1 attempted to board with a flask suspected of containing alcohol and refused to surrender it when asked by flight crew, allegedly obstructing safe aircraft operation.
- According to the petition, Captain Ranti Ogoyi claimed KWAM 1 spilled the flask’s contents on her and then allegedly obstructed the aircraft’s departure by standing in front of it.
