NBC Makes Decision on Future of One of TV’s Most Popular Crime Shows
NBC is adding four scripted series and a civilian version of The Traitors while moving Law & Order to 10 PM to improve flow.
On Monday, NBC announced its fall 2026-27 broadcast schedule, moving the civilian edition of The Traitors to Thursdays at 8 PM and shifting Law & Order to 10 PM.
NBCUniversal President of Program Planning Strategy Jeff Bader said the shift aims to leverage The Traitors as a strong lead-in for Thursday nights, allowing Law & Order to anchor the 10 PM slot.
Four new scripted series join the lineup, including drama Line of Fire and comedy Newlyweds this fall, while The Rockford Files reboot and Sunset P.I. are slated for midseason launches.
Mondays will feature Line of Fire at 10 PM following The Voice, while the One Chicago block continues on Wednesdays for a ninth consecutive season.
NBC will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Dec. 10 with a live special, while Today co-host Savannah Guthrie will host a new primetime game show version of Wordle, slated to premiere in 2027.
