Bucks Champion P.J. Tucker Retiring From the NBA
The veteran forward ends a 14-season career with 886 regular-season games and a 2021 championship with the Milwaukee Bucks.
On Thursday, 41-year-old NBA veteran P.J. Tucker announced his retirement on Instagram, concluding a 14-season career with eight teams including the Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks.
Originally drafted by the Toronto Raptors in the 2006 NBA Draft, Tucker appeared in just 17 games before spending five years playing internationally in Israel, Ukraine, Greece, Italy and Germany.
Playing 886 regular-season games and 105 playoff contests, Tucker helped the Milwaukee Bucks win their first championship in 50 years during the 2021 season while averaging 6.6 points and 1.1 steals per game.
Earning $100,176,629 in career salary according to Spotrac, Tucker finished as a financial success story. The Phoenix Suns honored his tenure with a tribute, recognizing him as foundational to the franchise.
Reflecting on his departure, Tucker wrote, "20 years being my job but 40 plus years of not being able to fathom doing anything other than it," vowing he will "NEVER stop ballin.
