From June 4 to 19, the largest and most important international military exercises in the region – “Baltic Operations” (BALTOPS 2026) – took place in the Baltic Sea, in which Lithuania was represented by the Lithuanian Navy mine countermeasures ship M53 “Skalvis”, soldiers of the General Kazimieras Nestoras Sapiega Fusiliers Battalion, and the Portuguese Marines rotational force deployed in Lithuania.
