Only 43% of Americans believe that NATO would defend the US in the event of an attack, according to an internal poll of the North Atlantic Alliance, quoted by Politico. This percentage is the lowest of 32 NATO member states and under the average of 57% recorded in the entire alliance. The results reflect a significant decrease in confidence, which experts put on the critical rhetoric of former US President Donald Trump.
