More Chocolate Bars Added to Nationwide Recall over Possible Contamination

The FDA posted a company announcement on Friday expanding a nationwide recall of Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars due to potential salmonella contamination affecting products sold online and through select retail partners.
Initial recalls of limited products earlier this year prompted the expanded scope after a root-cause investigation with food safety experts and the FDA identified a single lot of date ingredient as the likely contamination source.
Consumers can identify affected bars by checking flavor, batch code, and box color on packaging; to receive a refund, they should photograph the packaging, email it to the company, and dispose of the product.
Company officials confirmed all finished chocolate bars tested negative for salmonella, and there have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the products to date.
