Nationals place pitcher Clayton Beeter on the 15-day injured list with right forearm soreness
Manager Blake Butera said Clayton Beeter will undergo imaging after the right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list.
- The Washington Nationals placed right-hander Clayton Beeter on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right forearm soreness, retroactive to Thursday, before the series finale against the Chicago White Sox.
- Nationals manager Blake Butera said the team placed Beeter on the injured list out of an "abundance of caution" while planning imaging. "It's just been cranky for a little bit now," Butera said.
- The 27-year-old Beeter has recorded two saves over 10 appearances this season. He last pitched Tuesday, tossing a scoreless ninth in an 11-4 win against Atlanta.
- In corresponding roster moves, the Nationals recalled right-handers Paxton Schultz and Andre Granillo from Triple-A Rochester. The team previously optioned infielder Andres Chapparo to Rochester on Saturday.
- Manager Butera plans to utilize a bullpen-by-committee approach for high-leverage situations with Beeter sidelined. "Gus has done a good job," Butera said, noting multiple late-inning options.
