Nationals' Jacob Young Leaves Game After Crashing Into Outfield Wall
Jacob Young, center fielder for the Washington Nationals, left the game in the eighth inning after crashing into the outfield wall during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Young caught a fly ball off Victor Mesa Jr. near the left-center field alley, hitting the wall hard with his right shoulder and head but maintained possession of the ball and threw it to left fielder Daylen Lile.
Nationals manager Blake Butera reported that Young experienced soreness and tightness in his side and is now considered day-to-day.
Young was treated on the field, stood up, and then walked off to the dugout after the incident, which occurred during the Nationals' 4-3 win.
