Sri Lanka - Minimum Wages Increased.

The increase in the minimum living wage (RMV) to S/1300, which in its first stage this year would be S/1230, will first go before the National Labor Council (CNT), which will meet this August. This was confirmed yesterday by the Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Juan Sheput, who indicated that the formal meetings to address the increase will take place after the Government's preliminary talks with employers and workers.
The Minister of Labour, Juan Sheput, explained that there must be previous meetings, and separately, with each member of the National Labour Council to reach a consensus.
