Senegal is tackling the problem of the absenteeism of some MPs. On Friday, 8 May 2026, the National Assembly dominated by the Pastef in power, adopted 127 votes to 3 with 2 abstentions. A bill clarifying and tightening the sanctions against elected officials who practice the policy of the empty chair.
