NASA reveals new look at cosmic ‘black eye’
Messier 64 is also known as the Black Eye Galaxy because of a dark dust band in front of its bright nucleus, giving it an eye-like appearance.
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope captured a composite view of Messier 64, showing it in multiple wavelengths including ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, and mid-infrared light.
Messier 64 exhibits unusual internal motion, with gas in its outer regions rotating opposite to the gas and stars in its inner regions.
