Sisters drowned in pools in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, inquest told
- On June 11, 2025, two sisters aged 29 and 25 tragically drowned in pools located along the Watkin Path within Eryri National Park.
- The women were found after emergency services responded to reports between 6pm and 9pm, with North Wales Police called at 21:31 BST to the Nant Gwynant area.
- Rescue teams from Llanberis Mountain Rescue, the Coastguard, and Wales Air Ambulance responded to the incident, but unfortunately, both women were confirmed deceased at the location due to drowning.
- University of Chester vice-chancellor Eunice Simmons said the sisters ‘‘touched the lives of many’’ while studying international business, and police confirmed investigations continue.
- Inquests into their deaths are scheduled to open on June 18 at Caernarfon, with the coroner adjourned pending ongoing investigations into the circumstances of their drowning.
