Nagaur: Retired teacher paid dowry of 2 crores, gave 1 crore cash, gold jewellery and plot

Retired teacher Ramnarayan Jharwal of Burdi village in Nagaur paid a dowry of Rs 2 crore in the marriage of his grandson. This included Rs 1 crore in cash, gold and silver jewellery and a plot. The family arrived with a convoy of 250 cars to perform all the rituals. Mayra (bhaat) is an ancient tradition performed by the maternal side in the marriage of the sister's children.
