Second Harvest Food Bank calls for Medicaid, SNAP funding protection
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee and various federal and state nonprofit advocacy organizations hosted a news conference Thursday at noon to call on elected officials to protect Medicaid and SNAP funding. "Proposed cuts will harm families, deepen poverty and damage the state's health and economic infrastructure," Second Harvest said in a news release. The full livestream can be watched above.
