The Russian Federal Service for Human Health and Consumer Rights Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) reported that two cases of COVID-19 and two cases of rhinovirus have been identified among people who came into contact with a woman diagnosed with "pneumonia of unknown cause" in the Irkutsk region of Siberia.

Rospotrebnadzor reported that two cases of COVID-19 and two cases of rhinovirus were identified among the contacts of a woman diagnosed with pneumonia of unknown cause in Irkutsk. The statement noted that 60% of the contacts have completed their observation period and the situation in the region is calm.
The governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, reported that a special commission of experts concluded that the cause of death was a “pneumonia of undetermined etiology”
