- On Sunday, Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns defensive end, recorded his 23rd sack against Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow at Paycor Stadium, breaking the NFL single-season sack record in the fourth quarter of the Week 18 season finale.
- Garrett's season-long production included multiple multi-sack games, needing one sack after Week 18 with 22 sacks, to surpass Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt's 22.5 record.
- He blew past left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and wrapped Joe Burrow for a six-yard loss on first-and-10 at the Browns' 45 after being held without a sack last week.
- Teammates and fans celebrated, hoisting Garrett on their shoulders while his parents, Audrey and Lawrence, cheered and the milestone bolstered his Defensive Player of the Year case.
- Despite the milestone, the Cleveland Browns will miss the playoffs in a lost season, although Garrett rescinded a trade demand and signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with $123.5 million guaranteed and a no-trade clause through 2030.
