Jean-Pierre Pesson, president of UNADIF in Meurthe-et-Moselle and son of a resistance fighter deported to Nazi camps, participated Thursday in the commemorations of the 81st anniversary of the surrender of Nazi Germany in Nancy. At 77, the former police officer continues tirelessly to pass on the story of his father, and of other deportees, to younger generations.
It was an emotional afternoon for the two surviving children of Julius Wolff. Today, a Stolperstein was unveiled for him. The Surinamese-Jewish Wolff was involved in the resistance together with his non-Jewish wife. Among others, they sheltered German-Jewish refugees in their attic in De Baarsjes.
